Hello Hixson Families,
Welcome back! I hope you had a great Spring Break, spending
time with each other and connecting.
It’s hard to believe we are getting ready to shift into April. The next two months will begin to fly by and
I’ll make sure to include the information needed to stay in the loop about all
the happenings at school. Please also be
on the lookout for team emails letting you know about field trips and classroom
activities.
NCADA Presentation
on Juuling, Vaping and E-cigarettes
Vaping is a very popular alternative to smoking and a
growing concern for parents and schools. While the long-term health risks
are unknown, there are some things we do know – potential for addiction,
nicotine poisoning, chemical ingestion, and financial costs just to name a
few. Learn more about e-cigarettes, vaping, and juuling, their potential
risks to teens, and how to talk to your kids about these devices at the all
district parent meeting at Hixson Middle School in the auditorium on April 5th
at 7:00 PM.
“Let’s Talk” with
Board of Education Members
Questions or comments for the Board of Education? Join some members at the next “Let’s
Talk”session from 8:30 to 10:30am on Sunday, April 8th at the
Starbuck’s in Old Orchard. We hope to
see you there.
Hixson Summer
Learning Transportation
New this year! The
district is providing transportation to and from Hixson for the Summer Learning
