Hixson Middle School Student Orientation

Friday August 8th, 2014

9:00 am-12:00 pm: 7th grade 

3:00 pm- 6:00 pm: 8th grade


We are gearing up for an amazing new school year, 2014-2015 with our student orientation on August 8th!  This orientation is for currently enrolled students, parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their students.  Parents, if at all possible, please try to attend within  your child's scheduled time frame.  If you are unable to attend the morning or afternoon session, feel free to attend during the opposite session which fits your schedule.

 August 8th will be a building and schedule orientation.  Students and parents will be able to accomplish the following on this day:
  • receive schedule and team information
  • find your locker
  • complete required 2014-2015 HMS forms
  • have your school picture taken
    • (if students are not able to have their photo taken on the 8th, a make-up picture day will follow in the fall) 
  • 7th graders attending with a parent: you will be able to sign for and pick up your Chromebooks for our 1:1 technology initiative beginning this school year 
    • Parents, there will be more information to follow on our technology in the classroom initiative
    • Chromebooks may be signed out at a later date if 7th grade parents are unable to do so on August 8th

Although this day is an orientation for currently enrolled students, if you still need to register your student you may do so here at Hixson on Monday, August 11th.  Prospective students and parents are still invited to attend orientation to acclimate to the building and fill out forms.
