As we approach the 7th and 8th grade registration days next week, I wanted to share some information that may be helpful. I also wanted to let you know that one more additional form was added to the forms link. The additional form is the Emergency Contact Form. We are sorry for the inconvenience but attached it as soon as we received it.

Hixson Middle School Schedule Pick Up Day Frequently Asked Question
What is the purpose of the Schedule Pick Up Days?
The main purpose is to turn in all necessary forms and get a schedule before the first day of school. However, it is also a time to:
- visit with a counselor to make any corrections to a schedule, if needed,
- pick up school supply kits from 1st Day School Supplies, if previously ordered,
- put school supplies in lockers, if already purchased,
- decorate and practice opening lockers,
- purchase a gym uniform,
- walking a student’s schedule and find classrooms, and
- pick up a chromebook before the first day of school!
When should we arrive?
- 7th Grade - August 2nd
- Last Names A-L: 8:30 to 11:30
- Last Names M-Z: 12:30 to 3:30
- 8th Grade - August 3rd
- Last Names A-L: 8:30 to 11:30
- Last Names M-Z: 12:30 to 3:30
Pro Tip: This is an open house event. You may arrive at any point during your scheduled time! These lines tend to be longer at 8:30 and 12:30. To avoid a line, arrive in the middle of your scheduled time!
What should we bring?
To make this process the most efficient, please visit https://sites.google.com/wgcloud.org/hxms to print and complete necessary forms. If you are unable to print from home, don't worry, copies will be made available for completion during the event! Students will not receive their schedule until the required completed forms are submitted. Please note that the emergency contact form was added on June 26.
If you have already purchased school supplies and locker decorations, you may want to bring them with you to put in lockers.
How long will this process take?
This will depend on the time you arrive and if you have the forms printed and completed before arriving. There tends to be longer lines at the beginning of the time periods. Please plan approximately an hour of time.
Does a parent or guardian need to accompany students?
Yes! We have found that even those who come with a completed forms, some are often overlooked and need to be completed at Hixson.
What if we can’t make it to our scheduled time?
We will be having a make up day on August 7th. You may come anytime between 8:30 and 11:30 and 12:30 and 3:15. If this still does not work for you, please contact your grade-level assistant principal - 7th grade, Dr. Vogt at vogt.aimee@wgmail.org and 8th grade, Dr. Roberts at roberts.todd@wgmail.org.
Can my child come up with a friend?
Students need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in case additional information is needed. Chromebooks will not be handed out to students without a parent or guardian present. That being said, if your child is not able to join you, parents and guardians are more than welcome to come on their own!
Will my child get his/her chromebook on these days?
Yes! Chromebooks will be distributed to those with completed technology forms and after watching a short video, accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you can not attend on August 2nd or 3rd, Chromebooks will be issued during the first week of school (pending all paperwork submitted).
