Good Afternoon Hixson Families,
It’s hard to believe there are only 10.5 more days left of
school! As we approach the end of the
school year, there will be a handful of communication you will receive besides
this upcoming events and reminders.
Communication can also be found on our Facebook page and all the
bi-monthly updates are on our website as well.
I know the end of the year is a crazy time for all of our school buildings
with a number of events going on. Please
don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need more information.
JET’s Pizza Night
Our very LAST pizza night with JET’s is Thursday, May 10th. We have appreciated your support this year
and hope you will come out for one last pizza dinner to support our
school. 20% of sales on Thursday come
back to our school. Just let them know
you are supporting Hixson and they will credit it to us.
8th
Grade Dance
The student council and teacher leaders have cancelled the
dance due to low interest. In
place of the dance, on the last day of school, 8th graders will have
a farewell dance party on the blacktop and lunch. Thank you to the parents who
volunteered. We appreciate your support.
Six Flags
On Wednesday, May 23rd, 7th and 8th
graders will be attending the end of the year Six Flags field trip. The last day to turn in permission slip forms
and money is Friday, May 18th.
The deadline is important to honor because this determines how many
busses to order for kids.
Immunization for
incoming 8th graders for the 2018-2019 School Year
In compliance with our
school board policy and state law, all
students will need to show proper documentation of immunization compliance to
attend the 1st day of school next year, August 14th.
All students entering 8th grade will need
documentation that a meningococcal immunization AND Tdap booster immunization
have been obtained. Proof of compliance may also include
documentation from St. Louis County Department of Health and Senior Services
stating that your child has a medical exemption, is in progress of attaining the required immunizations, or has a
religious exemption. Please refer to the Missouri Department of Health
and Senior Services website or a physician for additional details regarding the
meningococcal vaccine and all other immunization requirements. We are
sharing this now in the hopes that no student will have to be excluded from
school for not having this required documentation.

Last Day of School
On the last day of
school, we will be providing a light lunch for students that will include
hotdogs and chips. The Kona Ice Truck
will also be on campus for students to purchase snow cones. If you would like donate water, please drop
it off in the main office. Thank you in
